The NeuroPerformance Gym

The NeuroPerformance Gym at EQUILIBRIUM Physical Therapy is a physical therapy supervised wellness program for adults age 55+ with or without neurological disorders. The Doctors of Physical Therapy who supervise our gym programs are certified specialists in Parkinson's disease; balance and dizziness; and gait and movement disorders, with a combined experience of 22 years. All group fitness programs at The NeuroPerformance Gym are evidence-based and validated through research to be beneficial for people who have Parkinson's disease and other related neurological disorders. Our Hallmark program, Rock Steady Boxing, is cited in numerous peer-reviewed research articles to be neuro-protective and slow disease progression. All of our researched backed group fitness classes have been proven to improve functional strength, quality of gait stability, balance and functional independence, which translates to an improved quality of life for The NeuroPerformance Gym members. It is the mission of The NeuroPerformance Gym to provide a safe gym environment for active adults 55 years of age and older where they readily have access to advice from Doctor of Physical Therapy experts where they can GET NEURO FIT and live their best lives!

Class Descriptions

    • ROCK STEADY BOXING VENTURA: RSB enables people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) to FIGHT BACK through a non-contact boxing, HIIT training fitness program that provides a sense of efficacy, self-worth and camaraderie with others who have PD. Our RSB classes are offered by certified coaches who are either lifelong martial arts practitioners, certified personal trainers, and/or licensed physical therapists certified in LSVT BIG® who are experts in PD rehabilitation. RSB has been proven through research to slow disease progression, be neuro-protective, improve gait, balance, and quality of life.

      Rock Steady Boxing

    • NeuroFunction Fight Club: A non-contact, martial arts based, kickboxing fitness class that works on balance, functional strength, coordination, core strength and endurance. Open to all members!
    • FUNctional YOGA: Yoga is a wonderful way to improve strength, flexibility, and balance in one's body all while finding stillness in the mind. Our FUNctional Yoga class incorporates the fundamental principles of alignment and fluid movement, all linked together by the breath. This is a class for all fitness levels, as pose modifications will be shown.
    • TAI CHI for BALANCE: A research-based program focused on balance.Tai Chi is a practice that involves a series of slow, gentle movements and physical postures, controlled breathing and a meditative state of mind. The Tai Chi practice offers a multitude of physical and mental benefits and is accessible for any age and to those with little or no fitness background.
    • STRENGTH & MOBILITY: Taught by one of our doctors of physical therapy who is also a certified strength and condition specialist. This group fitness program focuses on foundational strength training, along with instruction / performance in the necessary accompanying mobility drills to perform these strength movements safely and without pain. Get strong, limber, and optimize your longevity!
